Training course: path to interfaith dialogue 3-9 february 2010

This is  a training course for youth leaders and youth workers and aims to promote tolerance and mutual understanding amongst youth of different communities and religions. As the title indicates, the project aims to shed light on the growing importance of dialogue and mutual understanding of persons living in a multi-cultural or multi-religious community.

The project will take place in Albania and the 30 participants will be a mixture of youth leaders / youth workers coming from countries of the European Union, the pre-accession Country of Turkey, The Euromed Region, the South East Europe Region and Caucas region . This diversity of backgrounds will enhance the mixture of ideas and experiences in the multi-cultural / multi-religious environment, for a better learning process of both the participants as well as the trainers.

This course will give the participants the possibility to improve and increase their understanding and knowledge of the diversity of religions and aims to increase their problem – solving skills on the basis of non-formal, equality and human rights education, when confronted with prejudices, stereotypes and racism in the multi-religious community we live in

Training Course: “Promoting European Citizenship Through Media” 23-30 november 2009

This training course was designed for young leaders and youth workers from EU and SEE countries, interested in promoting European Citizenship through youth media. The training course aimed at addressing the issues of European Citizenship and youth participation and providing an opportunity for those involved in youth work to improve their knowledge how to promote European Citizenship through media work with young people and as well as the Youth in Action programme as a tool for promoting youth participation.

During the project TC participants  discussed the significance of youth participation and citizenship, exchange best practices and prepare different types of media products (press releases, video, newspaper, photoblog) in order to reach their target audiences to promote active citizenship.

Training course: equal opportunities for different groups

The Training Course “Equal Participation for different groups” was developed in Durres, Albania 9-16 May 2009 for youth workers who wanted to learn about human rights education (discrimination, social exclusion, gender based violence, disability, migration, children rights), and to  develop over the present challenges that they  face.

This training aimed to train youth leaders, youth workers in developing human rights education and promoting it to youth.

Youth Exchange : Open Dialogue among our cultures 3-12 April 2009, Durres, Albania

This project was a multilateral  youth exchange which brought together 30 young people from 5 different countries (Greece, Italy, Albania, Macedonia and Turkey) in an open dialogue among our cultures by bringing together young people from different background and cultures. The project aimed to promote and raise awareness about intercultural dialogue; to provide condition that young people meet cultural diversity; make participants to reflect on their identity; helping them to gain the capacity to recognize inequality, injustice, racism, stereotypes and prejudices among different cultures, and try to find solution to these phenomena.

Training course: Jump into action 19-26 february 2009

The training course Jump into Action was developed in Durres, Albania on 19-26 February 2009 from Youth4Society organisation. In the training participated 22 youth workers from EU and SEE regions. The topic of the training was related to project management, intercultural learning, European citizenship. The training aimed to  enable youth workers to realize youth projects prepared in a multicultural team, within the framework of YIA programme, by actively contributing, through better understanding of intercultural learning.

This training course was designed to fulfil the needs of members of different organisations in the field of project management and all its elements.

Youth4Society is a volunteer, non-profit, non-governmental, non-political organisation which aims to foster youth participation of young people in civil society, to bring social change, development and improvement of our country, using different tools and programmes. All the activities are focussed in different topics in youth field.

Our members have been engaged in different youth associations as volunteers and during this period we have gained a lot of experience increasing our knowledge with a direct impact in our personal and social development. Actually we want to extend further our activities for young people in all Albania.

Our association is created by a group of young people in September 2007 from 17 – 33 years old living in Tirana, Albania, who have participated in some European activities in youth field like youth exchanges, seminars, training, campaign for youth rights within youth programme and some other youth activities ect.

Our members are young people from 15-35 years old. Till now we have nearly 50 members, mainly students of social science and we have been partner in some projects in Balkan and small local project with different Albanian NGO-s.

Our main field of working are: employment, youth camp, campaign for human rights, youth exchanges, seminars, training, youth education, active participation of youth in society, citizenship, European citizenship ect.

Youth in action!

Youth in action – a tool for youth empowerment

Youth in Action is the Programme the European Union has set up for young people. It aims to inspire a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union’s future. It promotes mobility within and beyond the EU’s borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and encourages the inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background: Youth in Action is a Programme for all!

All together for a better future

The YOUTH IN ACTION programme is the EU’s mobility and non-formal education programme targeting young people aged between 13 and 30 years. Its general objectives are the following:

  • Promote young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular;
  • Develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union;
  • Foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries;
  • Contribute to developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field;
  • Promote European cooperation in the youth field.

Youth Exchange Action 3.1

21-29 April 2008, Durres, Albania. Youth Exchange Action 3.1 “Youth for Society”

The main aim of the project was to bring together 28 young people from 4 different Europeans countries, coming from different backgrounds in order to discuss about youth participation in society, to find and explore tools how young people can be better promoters of active citizenship, to exchange our experience and best practice, to share among each other our experiences.
